Starting pre-school is an exciting time and a challenging step for every young child. It is an important time for children to become a little more independent, to make new friends, have fun and learn the value of sharing and co-operating with others.
We strive to ensure that The Pines provides a happy, calm, secure and stimulating environment in which all children feel comfortable to play and learn. We want our children to develop skills of independence through our encouragement, so that they can grow in confidence and face new challenges.
We offer your child:
-
Individual care and attention.
-
Fun and friendship with children and other adults.
-
Opportunities for you and your family to be directly involved in supporting the pre-school, and your child's learning progress.
Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The four guiding principles of the EYFS are: A Unique Child, Positive Relationships, Enabling Environments and Children learn and develop in different ways and at different ages.
The EYFS includes 7 Areas of Learning and Development:

All these areas are connected to one another and are equally important. All areas of Learning and Development are underpinned by the Principles of the EYFS. Click here to download our
